Communion
The Breaking of Bread, The Lord’s Supper and Communion are all terms commonly used by Christians to describe the simple ceremony of taking bread and wine together to help us remember Jesus: His coming, His life, His death, His resurrection and His glory. The New Testament clearly teaches that all Christians are called to do this to remember Jesus by this simple act. We welcome all followers of Jesus, whether members or not, to share in the bread and wine with us.
The best preparation for communion is a consistent daily life with the Lord Jesus. Listen to Him talk through the Bible and talk to Him through prayer. If there is anything that clouds your relationship with God, deal with it in confession and repentance before the service.
Remember the focus of our worship is God. Try to arrive in good time to spend a few minutes in meditation and prayer before the service begins. Late arrival distracts you and others. Be aware of those who are there, whether fellow members in need of care or encouragement, or visitors to be greeted and welcomed. Everyone present is in the same position: a sinner saved by grace alone.
