Other Activities in 2009
|
Other Activities in 2009 Baptist Missionary Society (BMS) £286 was raised through BMS Globes in 2009 and earmarked for the BMS Relief Fund. In January 2010 following the terrible earthquake in Haiti £1,093.72 was raised for the BMS Appeal for Haiti. As most of the donations were gift aided BMS should be able to claim back an additional £275 from the Government. BMS Link Missionary Julia Stanbrook is our link missionary working in Sao Luiz in North East Brazil helping to co-ordinate and develop the PEPEs (Preschools) in the area. She was much in prayer in 2009 when visa problems forced her to return to the UK for a period. Christmas Card Project £327 was raised and given to ROPE for their Lifeline Christmas Gifts. The ROPE in Malling team were able to make this up to £500 so that a fresh-water well can be provided. Christmas Morning Offering The offering at our Christmas Morning Service of £245.30 was given to Christian Blind Mission (CBM) to be used for cataract operations and/or to prevent River Blindness. We look forward to hearing more of CBM’s work at a joint housegroup meeting on 29 April 2010. |
