ROPE in Malling2nd Quarter - April to June 2009 ROPE in Malling based at WMBC is a satellite of the main ROPE Charitable Trust based in Great Missenden, Bucks. It completed its fourth year of operation in June 2009. £817.40 was raised through the AMF. See below for more information. Our fourth year of operation from July 2008 to June 2009 was another very successful year. A very challenging budget was set to raise £10,000 but due to the generosity of our supporters in WMBC and friends in sister churches in the area £12,000 was raised. This enabled us to continue our support for the MIVED orphanage in Peru at £3,000, to increase our help to Hope for Widows and Orphans in Cameroon to £2,500, and continue to support a project in Chad called FEEEJ (Evangelical Centre for the Training and Education of Young People) with £2,500. We also took on a new project to help Emmanuel Ministries Calcutta in their work with children in Kalahandi in Orissa, India with £2,000. The surplus raised enabled us to support one-off projects, £500 to rebuild a community centre for the Kalahandi Project and £860 to refurbish 2 widows houses in Cameroon. For year 5, the year to June 2010, a budget of £12,500 has been set being £10,000 for the projects supported in year 4 plus £1,600 for a Women’s vocational Training Centre in Pakistan and £900 towards a training scheme in Bomo House, Kinshasa, DRC. In addition we have budgeted to raise £500 for Friends of ROPE, the charity that meets all the admin costs of ROPE to enable 100% of moneys given to ROPE to be used for the benefit of the poor. |
