Nicola arrived in Mali in December 2006 to commence her translation work with SIL (the local Wycliffe partner to whom she was seconded). She lived in Bamako to learn the Bambara language but a change of plan led to her staying in Bamako longer than originally anticipated in order to cover the position of Finance Manager until a Malian could take over. In December Nicola finally moved to Sevare in order to learn the Fulfulde language which is the language she will be helping to translate the scriptures into. The Additional Missionary Fund raised £799 for Nicola which is in addition to regular donations given by some folk outside of the Additional Missionary Fund. |
